How it all started...
Since the early 1990's, Moncks Corner was home to two Pentecostal churches that were based out of Cleveland, Tennessee. These two churches, were the Oakely Road Church of God and the Moncks Corner Church of God, which would later be renamed the Santee Circle Church of God. For over 30 years, these two houses of worship worked together to impact the communities around their ministry hub in Berkeley County.
Since the late 1980's, Oakley Road COG was a fixture and well known house of worship in the area. They served as one of the larger churches in this area during the 1990's and early 2000's. Having been led by some of the greatest leaders in the Church of God in Clevenland, Tennessee, Oakley Road was build with the DNA, and destined, for greatness.
Since the mid 1990's, Santee Circle COG (formally the Moncks Corner COG) has been impacting the communities of Santee Circle, Macedonia, Bonneau, St. Stephen, Cross, Johns Island, Goose Creek, Ladson, and Summerville. Led by two great men of God prior to Pastor Jonathan's arrival, Santee Circle was prepared for a BIGGER future.
After the arrival of Pastor Jonathan & Brianna, Santee Circle COG began to expand its kingdom vision by partnering with groups like Changed Lives Ministries, Lowcountry Food Bank, and began sponsoring International Missionaries in Israel, Romania, & Thailand to name a few.
While both of these churches were still actively engaged in kingdom work, God began to shift things in the hearts of both congregations. It was at God's nudging that the leadership of Oakley Road COG and Santee Circle COG began to discuss the possibility of partnering together in a greater ministry assignment.

Expanding the Kingdom...
Upon arriving to pastor the Santee Circle COG in Berkeley County in 2019, Pastor Jonathan knew that God was up to something more. Driven to lead Santee Circle Church of God to new heights, Pastor Jonathan began asking God for the vision for a new building and facility to continue kingdom expansion. Though he believed it may be a physical building project on the physically property of the former Santee Circle COG location, God had a different idea. Instead of leading the church in a 1.1 million dollar building project, God instead opened up the door for an over 4 million dollar campus to be obtained.
Both former churches, Oakley Road COG & Santee Circle COG, had experienced seasons where they saw growth numerically, spiritually, and emotionally. However, they also had seen seasons of decline and disheartenment. Though they also experienced times of great difficulty, neither group believed God was finished with them yet. Now through the blending of these two church families, Connexus is driven to take these foundations and build upon it to reach unprecedented heights.

Where we are headed...
Today, Connexus Community Church exists to CONNECT individuals to Christ, Calling, and Community. We do this through our three core values CONNECT, COMMIT, CONVERT. We want everyone to CONNECT to Jesus. We want everyone to find the call of God for their lives and COMMIT to following it out. We want those who find connection with Christ and commit to their calling to then go out and CONVERT their communities for the kingdom.
Since this may be our one shot at giving you something to remember, our goal is to show you Jesus in every service. Maybe through something you hear or see you will want a relationship with Him and CONNECT with a family of believers. All He desires is a personal relationship with you.
Jesus is so crazy in love with you. In fact, He loved you so much that He was willing, and did, die for you. He knows everything about you. He is the creator of everything, owns everything, yet all He wants is you. The greatest part is, all you have to do is say, “I want you too, Jesus.” It’s the absolute easiest relationship you will ever have, with the One who has it all.
In just a few short months, we have seen the church grow numerically, spiritually, emotionally, and physically. As of 2026, we decided tho update the facilities by putting a new roof on both the Main Auditorium and Family Life Center. We have begun major renovations in both physical aesthetics as well as sound, media, and lighting. We have committed ourselves to be a major partner to ministries like Changed Lives Ministry, Ekklesia Projects, and many other outreach opportunities. Once we are able to alleviate a pre-existing loan, we will launch a major renovation project to redo our entire Main Auditorium, Connexion Center area, and bathrooms.

We want those who find connection with Christ and commit to their calling to then go out and CONVERT their communities for the kingdom. While this is just the beginning of our story, we can wait to see what God does next and where He takes us next. Therefore the question to be asked and the heartbeat of Connexus Community is this... will become part of the story?
